1. Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge

This Disney resort offers luxury with a safari twist. Your room will look out onto savannahs straight out of the African landscape that actually has real exotic wildlife. This is coupled with the luxury of a spa, pools, and fine dining surrounded by an impressive array of African art.
The resort sets itself apart from other Disney accommodations with its access to nearly 40 species of African wildlife that includes zebras, gazelles, and giraffes to name few. Each room includes a Wildlife Field Guide that gives you specifics about each animal and the ecosystems of their origin complete with a program from an actual animal trainer and specialist. If you want to get even closer to the wildlife, you can go on the Wanyama Safari that ends a five-seven course dinner.

2. Westgate Resort & Spa at Disney- Cheap Disney Vacation Packages

This resort is situated close to all three major parks: Disney, Universal, and SeaWorld. You can take the Westgate shuttle between each park on a daily basis in less than 15 minutes. It is also close to a variety of shopping areas. It is situated on 85 lush acres that include a lake fed by a spring, a boardwalk for taking a leisurely walk out to the island to look for tropical birds or to enjoy a full view of the entire resort. There are fire pits for the evening and mammoth gazebos for an entire family.

The family will enjoy one of the seven outdoor pools and an additional four children’s pools. Other activities include tennis, basketball, miniature golf, volleyball. There is even a dedicated club just for kids called the Wes. T. Gator Kid’s Club.

Most of the rooms, which range from studios to four-bedroom villas, offer big screen television viewing, and front-row seats from the comfort of your room for the Disney fireworks each evening. There is also a separate events center called the Sunset Key Island Retreat & Event Center that will give you private tropical views for special occasions.

3. Disney All-Star Movie Resort

If your family is into movies, then this resort is your perfect choice for a fun-filled, movie-themed vacation. You will be surrounded with life-sized replicas of Disney movie characters like Sheriff Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. You can swim in one of the movie-themed pools like Fantasia or The Mighty Ducks, and your kids can enjoy time in the arcade. There is also a Disney movie under the stars for the whole family to enjoy at the Reel Spot outdoor movie venue near a food court with actual movie marquees that advertise food choices as if it is displaying the names of movie stars.

4. Disney All-Star Sports Resort

The theme of competition and sports is unique to this resort which each room designed with baseball, football, tennis, basketball, or surfing in mind. The pool has surfboard-themed motifs, and there are oversized surfboards that surround the pools seating area that can be used as lounge chairs. The rest of the resort and spa area has a contemporary décor and the Grand Slam Pool is light up like a sports arena each night.

This resort also offers free movie nights around the Surfboard Bay Pool.

5. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

This rugged-themed resort was inspired by the lodges found in U.S. National Parks in the early 20th century. It is a nod to the beauty and wild of the wilderness areas of America and has a multitude of outdoor activities including walking nature trails to enjoying the natural surroundings and relaxing on rocking chairs in the forest. It is designed with the Native American culture in mind with totem poles and Native American headdresses. Its focal point is a large stone hearth as you come into the resort lobby with a fireplace that usually has a blazing fire going. The Silver Creeks Pool has a waterslide as well as a hot tub, and an even more child-friendly Copper Creek Springs Pool with a variety of slides and other activities. You can also dine at the Artist Point and enjoy the surrounding views of the creek as it flows through the courtyard area. There are fine dining specialties available from the Pacific Northwest as well.

While you’re planning your Disney excursion, involve the kids and you can teach them some great ways to save money for the trip. including specific games to practice being frugal. If you plan on driving, brush up on the how-to’s of car repair just in case.
